LEBATEX
When my dear friend, Stacy Garcia, the founder of LebaTex, invited me to design a fabric for her company’s 20th Anniversary, I was both thrilled and honored. I turned to my sketch journals and sifted through the many fabrics I have designed in recent years, but none felt perfect for this celebration. And so, I began sketching and ended up with three strong designs which I reviewed with the LebaTex design team. We zeroed in on a geometric pattern inspired by my obsession with Hermès silk scarves. It also included a quatrefoil in homage to the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral whose devastation by fire was weighing on my mind. It resulted in “Chloe” a distinctly French pattern in colors inspired by Jackie Kennedy. Hot pink, classic navy, and a bit of malachite as well. I am using the Navy version for a luxury boutique hotel I am presently designing.
